Ideas change everything
Jessica (Hayeong) Choi
Director & Vice Chair (Board Member), TEDxSeoul
Since 2021, I’ve been part of TEDxSeoul, helping shape it from a small volunteer group into a more structured, growing community. I currently serve as Director and Vice Chair, leading overall strategy for our events, brand, and community experience, as well as contributing to board-level decisions and governance.
I’ve organized everything from a fully virtual event during the COVID-19 period to large-scale in-person gatherings with over 200 attendees. Depending on the scale of the event, I’ve led cross-functional volunteer teams ranging from small core groups to around 20 people—coordinating content, logistics, and operations so that speakers, partners, and guests can focus on what matters most: sharing and experiencing meaningful ideas.
A big part of my work has been building the systems that make TEDxSeoul run. I created our communication frameworks for onboarding, member experience, and internal collaboration, and I’ve helped structure how we work across partnerships, marketing, and operations. This often means turning scattered input—messages, ideas, constraints, and goals—into clear plans, processes, and decisions the whole team can understand and act on.
Through hands-on event planning, cross-team collaboration, and continuous iteration, I’ve learned what it takes to design experiences that feel thoughtful from start to finish: from the first invitation and communication touchpoints to the event flow, atmosphere, and follow-up. I value clear communication, collaboration, curiosity, and thoughtful project management, and I aim to make each TEDxSeoul project a meaningful space where people can keep learning and growing—onstage, behind the scenes, and in the audience.
